What is WCC?

Overview
The annual World Christian Conference (WCC) is organized by the World Christian Fellowship (WCF), a grassroots movement of Christians on a journey to becoming strategically involved in God's plan to disciple all nations. The unique purpose of WCC is to address practical issues of integrating a World Christian vision into the life of the Body of Christ. To God's glory, He has used the conference to encourage and equip alumni for lifestyles centered on God's mission, both locally and globally.

Vision and Purpose
The World Christian Conference seeks to welcome, challenge, and mobilize Christians of all ethnicities and backgrounds to fulfill their calling in God's global plan-making disciples of all nations. Through its history the conference has developed a special calling for helping realize this purpose for Christians within the Asian-American church. The conference began in 1985 as the World Christian Conference for Chinese Graduates (WCCCG) when its founders saw the need to bring Chinese Christian brothers and sisters together to challenge them to respond to the needs of the unreached peoples of the world as well as the need for more full- time workers in North America.

Each year since 1985, brothers and sisters, primarily from the West Coast, have come together in a forum where biblical teaching is given, models and examples are presented, and practical issues are discussed. The fellowship among those attending the conference usually continues well beyond it as like-minded brothers and sisters from different churches network together, helping each other to move on in their own World Christian journeys.

By God's grace, many alumni of the World Christian Conference have moved into various ministries, locally and abroad. Others continue to live out their World Christian calling and spread the World Christian vision here in North America. We are seeing that God calls His people to fulfill His plan through different and complementary roles. It is our prayer that through this conference, more and more Christians will work to bring about the completion of God's global plan, and in doing so, hasten the return of our Lord.

Group and Family Discounts

A group discount is available for groups of four or more from the same church when registering online. A family discount is available for registration totals in excess of $550. Any amount more than $550 will be discounted 50%, up to $50.

For last year's conference we had instituted a new group discount policy that we hoped would encourage new/smaller churches to send more attendees. However, there was some confusion concerning group IDs and about how and when the discounts would be applied. We have changed this policy slightly in an attempt to alleviate the confusion.

A group discount is available for a group of four or more persons from the same church when registering online. There can be at most one group from each church. This year, we will be granting a per-group discount of $60 which will be reimbursed to the group coordinator/liaison at or after the conference. The check will be made out to the church, so each group coordinator/liaison must make arrangements with the church financial officer in order to appropriate the funds. This $60 can be distributed amongst all members of a group, or used for any other purpose the group coordinator sees fit.

Our goal in this new policy is not to penalize large groups. We would like to especially encourage those in new and/or smaller churches that have sent few or no people to previous WCC conferences, to attend with more people from that church. We hope that this would increase their accountability and post-conference processing as well as awareness of WCC as a whole amongst their church community.
